So I had a unique photo project request this week. Rhonda Frasier, (my dear friend who has been oh so faithful to my kick-boxing classes), called me and asked me to put together a slideshow of photos celebrating the life of James (Jim) M. Vaughn, who sadly passed away this past Sunday at 98 years of age.
WOW! 98 years of life = an amazing life journey to document! Almost a CENTURY of LIVING! This is why I decided to call this particular photo project, a CELEBRATION OF LIFE!
My deepest sympathies are extended to the family of this man, because as I went through the photos of his life I could tell he was a soft happy soul who was deeply loved by many, especially his wife and grandchildren! Delight overwhelmed me and I was intrigued by how amazing it was to unlock the past. It was an honor to create a slideshow from these small square treasures, tokens of past holidays and family gatherings, and it was an HONOR to scan, crop, copy, and edit the precious mementos so that the snapshots of his life told his LIFE story, his journey, his spirit! for family and friends.
I discovered a passion I never knew I had from this photo project! Documenting his life gave me the opportunity to create a priceless treasure for James (Jim) Vaughn's extended family and friends; which reminded me of the MAIN REASON why I chose photography as a career path in the first place - I want to capture the essence of life, of those precious moments, so that they are locked in your heart forever, as well as awe audiences of friends and family for years to come. My passion is to MOVE you, and my clients can testify that I am always saying, "These are YOUR photos-I want YOU to like them, so tell me what YOU want"(setting & editing wise) =) Because at the end of the day, the photos are gracing the walls of YOUR home, your hallways, hung over your fireplace, AND treasured by YOU! (Not me!)
For those of you who will ever be in need of a "Celebration of Life" slideshow, I would be more than happy to assist you! It's safe to say I have discovered a new passion in the field of photography/digital media-Creating slideshows! So feel free to contact me about creating slideshows for any type of special event or purpose! Many couples wish to showcase a slideshow at their wedding or family reunion as well. I will be more than happy to listen to your ideas and give you a quote for your unique slideshow photo needs =)
I plan on adding this service to the "Event Celebration Collection" on my web site in the near future.
Many thanks to the friends and family of James (Jim) M. Vaughn for allowing me to document and celebrate his life journey. May God bless you and comfort you during this time of grief and loss.
Love & Light Always,
Serena
