Top 10 Photos of 2010

TOP 10 OF 2010!

As I reflect on my first year of creating Serene Spaces Photography, I am sifting through the images I have created for various clients, and I can definitely tell that I have improved as a photographer over the past year! SO, as my worst critic, here are my TOP 10 FAVORITE SHOTS from 2010! Enjoy!

#10 FRISKY FAIRIES

My two sweet little cousins, Emma and Cecilia, participated in my "Fairies on the Falls" photo sessions that are held every June at Fall Creek Falls. The smiles on their faces, the glow of mischief and laughter, the personality and uniqueness of their wings....I know I may be a bit partial-BUT, as I went over all the photos I've taken over the past year, these girls DEFINITELY made my top 10!

#9 - ROCK-STAR

Rocking out as a ROCK-STAR on your first birthday has to be the BEST way to celebrate your first year of life! =) Photographing this sweet little boy playing on his new drum set, on his VERY 1st birthday, reminded me that this is what the world is searching for-I think we just tend to forget along the way! Because at the end of the day-recognizing what you were born to do-your talents, your gifts, the Creativity that the Creator has blessed us with, so that we can, in fact, create in honor of Him! is what it is all about!
Those of you who are still soul searching-If you allow yourself to reflect, I believe you will find it all begins with a childhood dream, a sense of wonder, and of course, drumming to the beats all your own!!! Thank you Kannon for allowing me to capture mementos of your FIRST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

#8 FLOWERS & LACE

Macey was one of the most breathtaking brides I have ever seen (And I have seen a lot!) She literally brought tears to my eyes when she walked out of the salon for her Bridal Portrait Session! She is such a beautiful young woman-and this picture of her bouquet and wedding engagement ring remind me how serene, calm, and vintage her wedding truly was-it was a perfect reflection of her relationship with her now hubby-Brad!

#7-CARNIVAL COUPLE! JAMIE & JERRY

Jamie and Jerry are very dear to my heart! From the first time I saw them together I knew they were a match made in heaven! There is just so much YOUNG PASSIONATE INNOCENT LOVE between them-and I am always thrilled to capture it in as many creative ways possible before their wedding day this upcoming May 2011!

#6-MISS NOVEMBER

Miss Kayla Johnson, posing for the TN Tech Calendar as "Miss November" on her and one of her best friends, Candice's "Favorite Fishing Rock" down at Johnson's Chapel on Center Hill Lake

#5 - PASSIONATE MOMENTS

The way Garry is holding Ashley in this photo just makes me melt! Her ring is BEAUTIFULLY showcased as well during this romantic embrace! These two are definitely a "super-model" couple! =) AND I am so so super excited they are expecting a new bundle of joy in a few months-another BEAUTIFUL child to add to their BEAUTIFUL family! =) CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!

#4 - SWEET CHILD OF MINE

Baby Maddux Axl (Named after Axl Rose from Guns n Roses) is preciously posed in his father's guitar case, with the lyrics from the world famous "Sweet Child of Mine" Guns n Roses notes....PRICELESS!!! TOTALLY LOVED THIS PHOTO SESSION! CONGRATS Sarah & Jason!

#3 - BREATHTAKING BRIDAL PORTRAITS

SO I had the honor of capturing beautiful bridal portraits of Chelsa in the same area as where her husband-to-be proposed a week before their wedding! Rock Island is truly a special place!!!

#2 - SEASIDE NEWLYWEDS

Gulf Shores, Alabama, right before the horrible oil spill reached the shores, I had the opportunity to photograph this couple for an "After Session" in God's glorious beautiful oceanfront in the Gulf of Mexico! I had so much fun on this destination wedding-that I could hardly call it "work" *wink wink*

#1 TOP FAVORITE PHOTO TAKEN IN 2010!- SPARK MY HEART ON FIRE!

10-10-10 was probably one of the most popular wedding dates this past year, and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL the day of Chelsa & Jackson's wedding! Blue skies, falling crisp leaves, AND later on that crisp Autumn wedding night, the wedding party enjoyed SPARKLERS before the wedding couple left their reception, and I was able to capture the bride and groom as they created a "Sparkle Heart" ... and the expressions on their faces, well, to me, it was just amazing and perfect!

Thank you everyone for allowing the first year of Serene Spaces Photography to be such an amazing adventure! I look forward to more inspiring challenges and tasks in 2011!

CHEERS!,
Serena
