Girl Scout Father/Daughter Dance for Troop # 478

Examples of Formal Shots done with the girls and their "dates" =)

SO I am A HUGE FAN of Girl Scouts-I was a Girl Scout up until they no longer offered it at our school...AND it was through Girl Scouts that I discovered my passion for photography...yes this was when I was just a wee little girl. Yep, that's right, on a good Ole' camping trip, I had finally convinced my Mom that I was old enough to be responsible for our camera, and wanted to work toward earning a photography patch, and then I took all the pictures I could that weekend, and thus began my addiction to going to WalMart and counting down the days until my film would be developed and delivered-funny I now know how my clients feel when I am editing a collection =) As a child, I would pour over all of the pictures I took of various life events, and as they say, practice makes perfect ;) SO here I am 20 years later... TAKING PICTURES for all of you lovely wonderful people!

This weekend was the FIRST ANNUAL Girl Scout Troop # 478 FATHER/DAUGHTER DANCE at the White County Agricultural Building in Sparta, Tennessee. I was asked to photograph the event and offer the girls a small formal print package they could purchase-and of course a portion of it went to help raise money for the girls. Let's just say these little girls getting all dressed up to dance with their Daddy's and Grandpa's and friends... was just PRECIOUS! I had the best time watching them all giggle and dance and crawl up into their dad/uncles/step dads/grandpas/ arms. I truly was one of the sweetest events I've had the pleasure of capturing on digital film!

Thank you Catrina Ledford and Jennifer Case for allowing me to photograph your special event! It was a huge success!!!

Krystal's Senior Pictures

Krystal is one of the sweetest souls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! She is an absolute delight to be around, and is always cheerfully offering exciting new creative ideas! Watching her high school transition from a junior to a senior is refreshing-and I truly enjoy conversations with this exciting joyful young woman!

Krystal, I hope you enjoyed our session at the historic Train Depot in Cookeville, Tennessee. The pictures of you and your Mom are precious, and your boyfriend was super sweet during this shoot! I had so much fun trying to play up this popular photography setting location!

Until next time!

Love & Light Always,
Serena

Ashley's Precious Family

Ashley Vance, her mother Johnnie, and her adorable little boy Keaton, enjoyed a fun family session a few days ago! Keaton has so much personality! I've never seen a kid who was trying so hard to SMILE and did so on cue! It was precious! Here are a few of my favorites! The fall leaves, ravishing red outfits, and perfect smiles just made this one of the most perfect family photo sessions ever!

Meredith & Madi's Fall Portraits

Tender is the sweet connection between mothers and daughters! This sweet Mommy & Me Fall Portrait session with Meredith West and Madi Jade was just so GREAT! Go Titans Go! :D (OH YEAH-we got Randy Moss this week too-it was in the stars that the pics would be perfect! Haha!)

I have been researching and discovering various ways of editing my photos. Forgive the lack of love to my Blog...it only means I've been loving up on those wonderful photo books, forums, and other educational materials :) I found myself not trying anything new edit wise with my sessions, and complacency is my biggest fear in life-SO...I knew it was time to learn something new and move forward with my work and as an artist! Can you see a difference?! =) I hope so, and I hope it's for the best!

Love & Light Always,
Serena
